Enhancing Mango Farming: Biliran Holds Cultural Management Training
The Provincial Government of Biliran, through the Office of the Provincial Agricultural Services (OPAS), organized a training session on Mango Cultural Management Practices on September 12, 2025, at the OPAS Multipurpose Building in Naval, Biliran.
The goal was to help farmers boost productivity by building their skills and knowledge. Known for its exceptionally sweet mangoes, Biliran is committed to further improving mango farming in the province.
During the training, experts covered topics such as orchard setup, pruning, soil and fertilizer management, flower induction, and pest control. Participants learned practical techniques through a hands-on demonstration on asexual propagation and joined an open forum to discuss real farming challenges and share ideas.
Provincial Agriculturist Brian S. Sinangote encouraged mango farmers to register their production with OPAS to receive full government support, gain a competitive edge, and access processing help.
Governor Dr. Rogelio J. Espina fully supports this initiative, demonstrating the province’s dedication to growing the mango industry and helping local farmers succeed.
