Culaba Hilltop Agricultural Farm Gears Toward Agri-Tourism
CULABA, BILIRAN โ What started as a simple garden in 2022, with the assistance of the Office of Provincial Agricultural Services (OPAS), has now grown into a promising venture for wider agricultural tourism.
Through the Palayamanan cum Climate Smart Farm Business School, the Culaba Hilltop Agricultural Farm in Brgy. Marvel has transformed its farming practices to become more resilient and sustainable. The initiative includes vegetable gardening, free-range chicken raising, and the cultivation of upland rice (Kalinayan).
The training program officially began on August 13, 2025, at the said farm and is now on its sixth weekly session. Farmers recently learned about PalayCheck, while their upcoming topic will focus on rice transplanting.
The Culaba Hilltop Integrated Upland Farmers Association expressed its gratitude to OPAS for the valuable knowledge and skills shared, which it believes will further strengthen its readiness for agri-tourism and community development.
