NAVAL, Biliran – The Provincial Government of Biliran, under Governor Roger Espina’s Serbisyong Biliranon, released transportation allowances to over 600 indigent high school students on September 18, 2025, at the Biliran Provincial Capitol Grounds.

The program was funded through the DSWD Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) allocated to the Province of Biliran by Secretary Rex Gatchalian.

Recognizing the need for support to indigent high school students, Governor Roger Espina directed the allocation of the AICS for transportation allowance, hoping that this would lessen the financial burden on their families and encourage students to attend school more regularly.

Each qualified student received an initial transportation assistance under the AICS funds provided by the DSWD Central Office.

The payout included validation, profiling, and cash release, with parents receiving the allowance on behalf of their children during both morning and afternoon sessions.
