Biliran Province Marks International Clean-Up Day with Collective Effort from LGUs, Agencies, and Communities

Governor Roger Espina extends appreciation to all LGUs, national government agencies, people’s organizations, and communities who participated in the International Clean-Up Day last Saturday, September 20, 2025, from Sitio Laca, Brgy. Smo. Rosario to Brgy. Atipolo, Naval, Biliran Province.

Observed every third Saturday of September each year, the movement enjoins all communities to participate in cleaning the waterways and coastal areas, especially in removing plastics and other non-biodegradable materials that may affect the marine ecosystem.

Governor Espina reiterates that while we feel safe living in our island province, our environment is more fragile than it looks, and thus must be protected not only for the Biliranons of today, but especially for future generations.

Aside from the municipal LGUs enjoined by the provincial government to take part in the activity, other agencies that have provided full support and cooperation to the LGUs and barangays include the PNP, BFP, PCG, BJMP, and PCG Auxiliary.
