Naval LGU Ensures Safety of 453 Evacuees Amid Typhoon “Ramil”
NAVAL, BILIRAN — The Municipal Government of Naval has placed the safety of its residents as its top priority, sheltering 453 individuals from 121 families at the Naval Municipal Gym, now serving as an official evacuation center in response to Tropical Depression Ramil.
Based on the latest Evacuation Center Information Board, evacuees include 128 school-age children, 60 teenagers, 153 adults, and 40 senior citizens. Among them are 21 lactating mothers, 2 pregnant women, and 8 persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), in coordination with barangay officials, volunteers, and response teams, continues to provide essential assistance including food, drinking water, medical care, and temporary shelter.
Naval Mayor Gretchen Stephanie M. Espina assured that the local government remains on full alert to address the needs of evacuees and respond promptly to any emergency situation.
“Our foremost concern is the safety and welfare of every Navaleño. We ask everyone to stay vigilant, remain calm, and cooperate with authorities as we continue to monitor the weather situation,” the mayor said.
Residents in flood-prone and landslide-risk areas are urged to stay alert and heed official advisories as precautionary measures remain in effect.
