UNiTEd for a VAWC-Free Biliran

As dawn broke over the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Brgy. Calumpang, Naval, more than 240 participants came together early on December 13, 2025, united by a single, powerful causeโ€”to help end Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC).

Led by the Biliran Provincial Health Office, in partnership with the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) โ€“ Biliran, the Run to End VAWC 2025 was more than a fun run. It was a clear and collective declaration that violence has no place in Biliranon homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Starting Strong, Moving Together

Participants began the morning with an energizing Zumba session, fostering camaraderie, wellness, and shared advocacy. Every movement reflected unity, resilience, and readiness to run not just for healthโ€”but for hope and change.

A heartfelt message delivered by Ms. Marlena Cordero, representing Dr. Joyce Caneja, reminded everyone of the deeper purpose of the event:

We are not just here to runโ€”we are here to stand, speak, and move with purpose. Every woman and girl deserves safety, respect, and dignity.โ€

Every step we take today symbolizes hope, courage, and determination to break the cycle of violence.

Running Beyond the Finish Line

The Run to End VAWC stands as a symbol of unity, awareness, and shared responsibility. It amplifies advocacy, encourages reporting, empowers survivors, and reinforces the message that ending violence is everyoneโ€™s duty.

Together, the Biliranons showed that when a community runs with purpose, change is not just possibleโ€”it is inevitable.

Let us keep running with heart.

Let us keep standing for dignity.

Let us stay united for a VAWC-Free Biliran and a safer Philippines.
