Naval, Biliran โ January 26, 2026
The Provincial Government of Biliran, through its Provincial Health Board, reaffirmed its strong commitment to public health excellence as it convened a crucial meeting at the Provincial Governorโs Conference Room on January 26, 2026.
Chaired by ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ง๐จ๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐จ ๐. ๐๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐, ๐๐, ๐ ๐๐๐, the meeting brought together key health leaders and stakeholders to chart strategic actions that will further strengthen healthcare delivery and community well-being across the province.
Among the highlights of the meeting were the Healthy Communities Awards, recognizing local government units and partners whose dedication and innovation have significantly improved health outcomes at the grassroots level. These communities stand as living proof that collective action, preventive care, and responsive leadership save lives and build resilience.
Another major milestone discussed was the Rabies-Free Zone Declaration, a decisive step toward ensuring safer communities and protecting families from preventable diseases. This initiative reflects Biliranโs proactive stance in disease prevention through inter-agency cooperation, responsible pet ownership, and sustained public awareness.
The Board also reviewed and approved key policy directions, including the Work and Financial Plan for the Fixed Tranche and Universal Health Care (UHC) Grant, as well as the 2026โ2028 Local Investment Plan for Health and the Annual Operational Plan. These plans lay the foundation for equitable, accessible, and quality healthcare servicesโespecially for the most vulnerable sectors.
As Biliran continues to move forward, the Provincial Health Board emphasized that good health is not just a program, but a shared responsibility and a cornerstone of sustainable development.
Together, through unity, evidence-based planning, and compassionate service, Biliran envisions a future where every Biliranon can live healthier, safer, and more dignified lives.
