A new chapter in agricultural development has begun with the official launch of the Season-Long Training on High Value Crops (HVC) and Corn Production at the IGP Site and Municipal Nursery in Brgy. Jamorawon, Almeria, Biliran.

The program brought together 36 participants, including 26 members of farmersโ€™ associations and 10 provisional participants from the Biliran Parole and Probation Office. The training highlights a strong collaborative effort among the provincial and municipal governments, partner institutions, and the Parole and Probation Office โ€” demonstrating a shared commitment to community empowerment, rehabilitation, and inclusive agricultural development.

Spanning 16 weeks, the training features weekly lectures and hands-on practicum sessions designed to equip participants with climate-smart farming practices, modern production techniques, and value-adding strategies to enhance productivity and income. Beyond agricultural skills, the program also supports personal growth and reintegration by providing meaningful livelihood opportunities through farming.

In his message, ๐™‚๐™ค๐™ซ๐™š๐™ง๐™ฃ๐™ค๐™ง ๐™๐™ค๐™œ๐™š๐™ก๐™ž๐™ค ๐™…. ๐™€๐™จ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™–emphasized the importance of strengthening local agriculture through innovation, education, and collaboration. He highlighted the provinceโ€™s ongoing support for farmers through processing facilities, improved market access, and agricultural infrastructure โ€” all aimed at boosting productivity, reducing waste, and building sustainable livelihoods.

He also underscored the value of partnerships that open doors for wider community participation, noting that initiatives like this not only improve agricultural capacity

but also promote social responsibility, second chances, and inclusive progress.

Participants were encouraged to make the most of the training โ€” not only to improve crop production but also to explore new ways of growing, processing, and marketing agricultural products for increased income and long-term resilience.

This initiative reflects a shared vision of empowered farmers, productive communities, and a stronger agricultural future for Biliran. Through unity, learning, and collaboration โ€” including the meaningful involvement of the Parole and Probation Office โ€” the program plants the seeds for lasting progress. With dedication, partnership, and continuous learning, this season-long journey is expected to cultivate not only healthier crops โ€” but brighter futures for farmers, participants, and their families.
