Pond preparation activities were held in Barangay Capinahan, Naval, Biliran, on February 26, 2026, to prepare for the upcoming 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐚-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧) and 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥. This activity was conducted by the Office of the Provincial Agricultural Services (OPAS) to ensure participants are prepared for both the technical and hands-on aspects of tilapia farming, laying a solid foundation for successful fish farming.

The program was designed to equip members of the 𝑪𝒂𝑭𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 with the knowledge and skills needed for effective, sustainable fish farming. Important preparation steps included pond preparation, effective water management, protecting fish from disease, and building farm structures that can withstand changing weather. This work improves people’s lives, boosts the local economy, and supports food security through sustainable, market-focused fish farming in Naval.
