The Province of Biliran once again brings pride and honor to Eastern Visayas as it is set to receive another prestigious regional recognition from the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office VIII during the culmination of the National Farmers and Fisherfolk Month Celebration on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Palo, Leyte.

Biliran was recognized as the Outstanding PLGU-HVCDP (Vegetable Sector) Implementor under the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), affirming the province’s strong commitment to agricultural advancement, food security, and sustainable farming development.

This remarkable achievement was made possible through the steadfast leadership of 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙤 𝙅. 𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖 and the continuous efforts of the Office of the Provincial Agricultural Services (OPAS) headed by Provincial Agriculturist 𝐌𝐫. 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒. 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐞, in partnership with the hardworking farmers, fisherfolk, and agricultural stakeholders across the province.

The recognition highlights Biliran’s growing excellence in agricultural innovation and community-based development programs that continue to uplift the lives of Biliranons and strengthen the province’s agricultural sector.

More than an award, this recognition symbolizes the unity, resilience, and dedication of every Biliranon in supporting local agriculture and promoting inclusive progress for the province.
