The Province of Biliran successfully hosted the 2026 Gawad KALASAG Orientation, led by Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Director 𝙀𝙧𝙬𝙞𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙡 𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙯𝙤𝙣,reinforcing the province’s commitment to disaster preparedness and resilience.

In his message, Director Lamzon emphasized that Gawad KALASAG is more than an award—it is a recognition of dedication and a challenge to continuously strengthen disaster risk reduction efforts and build communities that are safe, prepared, and resilient. He also highlighted this year’s theme: “Fight Disasters and Hazards, Safety Begins with Our Own Capability.”

The orientation further enhanced the knowledge and preparedness of local government units and stakeholders, ensuring that every DRRM initiative is guided by purpose, compassion, and effective governance.

The Provincial Government of Biliran led by 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙤 𝙅.𝙀𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙖, reaffirmed its full support for the initiatives of the Office of Civil Defense as it continues working toward a safer and more resilient province.
