CULABA, Biliran (BiliranDEO) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) is implementing Php 160 million worth of projects comprising road widening and slope protection works along the Biliran Circumferential Road (BCR) section in Barangays Guindapunan-Pinamihagan, Culaba, Biliran.

District Engineer Irwin L. Antonio said the P60-million slope protection project covers the construction of 781 linear meters or 2,343 square meters of slope protection structures aimed at preventing road slips and landslides and protecting motorists, properties, and the existing road. While, Php100-million road widening project involves the construction of 3.250 lane kilometers of concrete pavement, road shoulders, drainage, slope protection, and solar lighting.

The project is expected to improve road accessibility and mobility while supporting economic activities and tourism in Culaba and neighboring areas.

Antonio emphasized that the projects are vital to ensuring safer and more reliable travel in the area.

“These projects will help protect the traveling public from road slips and landslides while improving accessibility and mobility. We are committed to delivering infrastructure that will support the safety of motorists and contribute to the economic growth and development of Culaba and nearby communities.”

Both projects are funded under the FY 2025 infrastructure program.
