A Glimpse into Biliran’s Past
Situated in the Visayan archipelago, Biliran’s history is as rich and diverse as its landscapes. Once known as "Isla de Panamao," it was later renamed after "Biliran," derived from a native grass that thrived along its shores. This island province holds stories of resilience, from early settlements to its role in the fight for independence.

Our Mandate
The Provincial Government of Biliran, under the Office of the Governor, is mandated to exercise powers and fulfill duties as defined in the Local Government Code of 1991. This mandate enables efficient, effective, and economical governance, serving the general welfare of the province and its residents.
