Providing Care, Protection and Rehabilitation

We are committed to provide care, protection, and rehabilitation to the most marginalized sector of the society, whether an individual, family or community, which has the least in life in terms of physical, mental and social well-being, and needs assistance to enable them to become self-reliant and be able to contribute in building the community.

Child and Youth Welfare Protective Services: The Provincial Crises Center (PCC) continues to provide temporary shelter to women and children who are victims of difficult circumstances. The Bahay Pag-Asa, is a 24-hr child-caring institution that offers short-term residential care for male children in Conflict with law (CICL) or Children at Risk (CAR).

Day Care Services: Day care among children remains as an important tool for proper childcare, provide for by 175 Child Development Workers under the tutelage of 8 MSWDOs and the PSWDO.

Responsible Youth and Family Program: The provincial government collaborates with MLGUs and BLGUs for the continued operation of the Bahay Pag-Asa and the Provincial Crisis Center benefiting the residents of the facility.

Women’s Welfare Program: This program aims to promote the welfare of disadvantage women, giving special attention to the prevention, eradication of exploitation of women in any form, including prostitution, illegal recruitment, as well as promotion of skills for employment and self-actualization.

Family and Community Welfare Program: This program is intended to assist socially disadvantaged families to develop their capability in coping up with the challenges that come with changes in the society.

Elderly and Person’s with Disability Welfare Program: The program provides services on disability prevention, rehabilitation, and equalization of opportunities for physically, mentally, and socially disabled persons in order to enhance their capability to attain a more meaningful, productive and satisfying way of life,

and to ultimately become self-reliant and contributing members of the society.

Internally Displaced/Emergency Assistance Program: The office provides relief, restoration, and rehabilitation service to victims of natural calamities and social disorganization, as well as prepare people and the community to cope with disasters and to prevent loss of lives and properties.

Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS): Under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, various beneficiaries received support such as: medical assistance, burial assistance, shelter assistance, educational assistance, transportation assistance and livelihood assistance.

Disaster Relief Operation: In collaboration with the PDRRMO, the PSWDO monitored, assessed the communities and initiated the distribution of relief during the threat of typhoons.

Food Assistance: Food assistance are given to families especially those affected by the pandemic. This included families in barangays under lockdown and quarantine. Likewise, frontliners and uniformed personnel in frontline services received food assistance from the provincial government.

Livelihood Assistance Grant (LAG): With the support of DSWD FO8, the provincial government released livelihood assistance to 1,000 beneficiaries whose livelihood were affected by the pandemic.

Financial Assistance to Sectors Affected by the Pandemic: With the funding assistance of national officials, individuals received livelihood assistance of Php3,000.00 to farmers and fisherfolks whose livelihood were affected by the pandemic.
