Biliran Province's economy grew by 6.6 percent in 2023, marking a continuous rise since 2021. The province's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was estimated at PhP 17.26 billion. (Figure 1)

About the

PROVINCE OF BILIRAN

Biliran is an island province located on the eastern part of the Visayas group of islands. It lies within the geographic coordinates of 11o 28’ 00” to 11o 50’ 00” latitude and 124o 37’ 00” longitude. It is bounded on the east by the Samar Sea, on the west by the Strait of Biliran, on the north by the Visayas Sea, and on the south by Carigara Bay (Map 1). Biliran is represented as a lone district in the House of Representatives.

Biliran Province is composed of eight (8) municipalities, namely: Naval, Almeria, Kawayan, Culaba, Caibiran, Cabucgayan, Biliran, and Maripipi.
